Obituary of Cyril McGrath

Go forward and display the positivity that he carried for his family. Remember his superior pride and endless, soft kindness. With absolutely no one ready, on the morning of February 20, 2025, our loving Husband, Dad, Poppy, and Brother went peacefully asleep to his eternal resting place. It is with the heaviest of hearts, we announce the passing of Cyril McGrath, aged 73. Leaving to mourn his gentle and kind soul are his wife, Ellen of 47 years, children Curtis (Nancy), Pam (Darrell), and Leroy (Stephanie) and his pride and joy, grandchildren Kurt, Kacie, Hope, Abigail, Alexis, Paige & Hailee, along with a large family of brothers & sisters whom he guided happily and cared for deeply: Felix (Angela), Hilda (Gerry), Mildred, Jerome (Cathy), Donnie, Pat (Theresa), George (Maxine), Gerald (Kim), Loretta, Peggy (Gerald), Eric (Lisa), special niece Amanda (Jason), sister in law Julie, and a large number of nieces and nephews & in-laws. Predeceased by his parents, Patrick & Theresa McGrath; siblings Raymond, Carmel & Gregory, parents in-law George & Mary-Ann, special brother in law Donnie, and niece Cheryl & nephew Connor. Cyril was loved dearly and in return, offered a much bigger love. He was a leader for his family, a guiding way for his children, an exemplary employee and a true Sheppard to his animals when that was his hobby job. Fatima Academy, its staff and all the kids passing through, held a special place in his heart always; a connection he loved in the community. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia. Leaving Placentia on Monday, February 24th, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. to go to St. Bride's. Visitation to follow at the Sacred Heart Church in St. Bride's. Funeral Mass on Tuesday, February 25th, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. from Sacred Heart Church.
