Obituary of Rodney Francis Nash

Please share a memory of Rodney to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our son, father, brother, uncle, and friend, Rodney Francis Nash, on September 28, 2025. Rodney suffered a massive stroke at home on September 23, 2025. It was an event that took us all by surprise leaving us unprepared for what was to follow. Rodney leaves to mourn, his daughters, Stephanie (Alex), Kailee and their mother Kim Hancock, and grandson Michael; his loving mother, Loretta, whom he cherished beyond measure and never stopped worrying about her. Even as he faced his own grave state of health, his thoughts were on how Mom was doing. The loss of her son is the ultimate heartbreak any mother should have to endure. His sisters, Frankie (Edmond) and Karyn, who babied and mothered him his lifetime, will miss him for the rest of their lives. His one remaining uncle, Don Nash (Sharon), who has always been there for us when we needed them most. His nieces and nephews, Vanessa (Rob), Joshua (Katarina) and Savannah (Rob), will miss their uncle and friend; but, who are left with many pleasant memories to last them a lifetime. There is a slew of cousins who were more like friends than family - the boys who were all brothers: they will remember Rodney every time they wet a fishing line, put a moose in their sights, or sit around the campfire singing and sharing jokes. Rodney is predeceased by his father, Francis; grandparents, Arthur and Philomena (King) O’Keefe, William and Rose (Hennessey) Nash as well as his aunts, uncles and cousins, with whom he shared meaningful relationships; his four-legged faithful companion, Remi, will forever watch the driveway for the truck that they would take to Tim’s for a steeped tea followed by a drive to Point Verde to watch the waves. Rodney was a working man and a proud member of IUOE 904. An injured worker in his last years left him unable to work, a devastating event for him. He loved the big machines, and he was proud of his skills and abilities on the equipment. He was met with this unfortunate circumstance that ended his work life, and there was no resolve before his untimely death, which only adds to that unfairness. Rodney was a happy-go-lucky fellow, and his easy light-hearted way helped him make many friends, whom he trusted, and in turn they enjoyed his good nature and kindness. His 'brother' Keith, your kindness and comradery over his lifetime will never be forgotten. He loved you dearly. Your thoughts and prayers over these last few days have brought more comfort than you will ever know. Thank you for all the texts, calls, messages we have received. To the staff at the HSC Neurology Unit, ICU 4 South B and the Special Care Unit 5 North A; Nicole, Emily, Kailee, Dr. Magnuson, and so many more of the dedicated staff, your kindness and attention during these last days is what helped us get through the worry, pain, and suffering of this loss. We will forever remember the comfort you gave us. Thank you to Dr. Power of Placentia Health Center for your continuous care for Rodney over these last few years. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia. Visitation to take place at Coombs Funeral Home on Friday, October 3, 2025 from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service to take place on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. in Coombs Memorial Chapel.
