We are saddened to announce the passing of Donald Patrick Quilty, who departed this world, on the morning of November 14th, 2025 at the Placentia Health Centre, surrounded by his family.
Donald, lovingly known as Don, was born in Placentia in 1946. He spent most of his working years driving transport trucks across the country and was quite proud of his work. His retirement brought him once again to Placentia where he spent the remainder of his years.
Pre-deceased by his parents, William and Anne (nee Ezekiel) Quilty, mother of his oldest children, Dorothy Quilty, brothers, William and James, son Richard, granddaughter Ashley, and lifelong friend Martin (aka. Marty) O’Leary.
Leaving to mourn and celebrate his life are, his partner of 28 years, Mary (aka. Marietta) Traverse; children, Belinda (Philip) Pittman, Glen (Tina) Quilty, Tim (Marie) Quilty, Wanda (John) Pittman, Liam (Taylor) Quilty, and David Quilty; step-children, Mitchell (Kayla) Traverse and Melissa (Shane) Musaskapeo; daughter- in-law, Angelique Quilty; his grandchildren, Evelyn Quilty, Angela Quilty, Kendra (Nick) Perks, Brianna (Dylan) Pittman, Chandelle (Leo) Christopher, Blayne (Courtney) Quilty, TJ Quilty, Katie (Brandon) Quilty, Richard Quilty, Zackery (Laura) Pittman, Marcus (Madison) Pittman, Jacob Sheppard, Mason Sheppard, Destiny Sheppard, and Aurora Quilty; his great-grandchildren, Levi Bonneau, Leo Christopher, Mia Christopher, Cole Quilty, Anna Pittman, Ellie Bradbury, and Baby Pittman, who’s still on the way; his brothers, Michael Quilty, Richard (Patricia) Quilty, Leo (Susan) Quilty, Jerry (Carmel) Quilty; sister, Ann (Ken) Majuery and sisters-in-law, Dot Quilty and Anna Haby, along with many nieces and nephews and a large circle of extended family and friends.
The family would like to extend gratitude to the nurses of Placentia Health Centre for the attentive care in his final days. Thank you as well to Paramedics, James and Alex, for their kindness over the last month.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia. Visitation to take place on Tuesday, November 18th, 2025 from 1:00- 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service to take place on Wednesday, November 19th, at Coombs Memorial Chapel at 2:15 pm. Inurnment to follow in Coombs Memorial Cemetery, Southeast, Placentia.
