Freddie, Valerie, Craig, Foley and Careen families, words cannot express the shock and sadness of Joan’s passing. She was a wonderful lady with a heart of gold and always willing to lend a helping hand. Her smile would brighten a room and her sense of humour second to none. Joan was a special lady who had such a good impact on so many people that you smile when you remember her. She will be missed on the hill, she was a great neighbor, friend and co-worker. Joan is at peace now and is with Heather. Family was so important to her and she loved hers dearly. Thinking of you all during this difficult time. Hold onto your memories and they will help you. RIP Joan, you were one in a million.

A lovely lady gone way to soon. There are no words that can be expressed in the loss of losing a love one. Joan was so full of life, always smiling and joking and she was so kind to others and always helping whenever she could. She had a heart of gold. She was a beautiful lady who always became everyone’s friend. To her husband, Freddie, her precious children and all of her brothers and sisters, Johnny and I offer our deepest and sincere condolences to you all. Take the time over the coming days and weeks to reflect on some of your great memories of her, and we are sure it will once again bring a smile to your faces. May God bless you all.

We were very shocked and sad to hear of Joan's passing. Joan was such a wonderful person who always had a smile and would go above and beyond to do what she could for others. She was always so thoughtful and caring to those around her. Joan will always have a special place in the heart of our family, especially with my sons who she always made a big fuss over. They would lovingly call her 'Miss Joan'. Nathan would even tell her she was his girlfriend and that he was going to marry her when he grew up. After we moved to Paradise, whenever we saw Joan she would always say to him 'you better not have a girlfriend!' This is just one of many memories that we have and will always cherish. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this difficult time.

It was with disbelief we learned of Joan's passing. I worked with Joan we catered functions, played darts, and had the most fun in her presence. I don't think we ever spoke to Joan without hearing her boisterous laugh. She meant so much to so many. Her family meant the most to her. There was never a conversation had where she didn't speak of Valerie, Craig or Freddie. Family was so important and so were her friends. And she had many!! May we all keep the memories of Joan alive. God bless you Joan and take care of the loved ones she left behind.

Knowing she had such an impact on everyone in our community speaks volumes from the many messages. I’m so privileged to have known her since I was a teenager. She was our Mom’s best friend. I was given the honour and pleasure of being Godmother to you Craig. It’s an honour I hold close to my heart. Please know that everyone shares your pain and are here for you day or night. She loved her community but her Love for her family stood out so much. I believe she’s in Heaven with Heather in her arms and all of her friends and family before her flying with the angels. She will be your Guardian Angel. You have so many memories and photos that will help you get through this along with family and friends. So sorry to hear of Joan's passing. I have known Joan since I first started teaching at St. Anne's. She was a kind, caring devoted mother, wife and friend. You often could hear her laughter before you saw that smile on her face. There was love in everything that she did to make other lives better. I remember Joan in many ways as she was such an active volunteer in the community. In addition to that, her personality was large and you always knew when she was in the room. When I was at St. Anne's Academy, Joan was a member of the school council. She was tireless in her efforts to support the school and was such a good Mom to her two children, which were the centre of her universe. Joan lived life with such energy and always brought a sense of humor with her to all situations. Her loss to her community and numerous volunteer groups is immeasurable Rest easy, sweet lady.
