“A Mother’s Love Is A Blessing..........”
It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of a dear mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, friend. Mom passed away peacefully at Placentia Lions Manor Nursing Home on Monday, June 25th 2019 at the age of 93.
Predeceased by her 1st husband, John Hanrahan & her 2nd husband Lou Hanrahan; her parents Mary (Tremblett) & David O’Keefe; her siblings Loretta (Alex) Greene, Anne (Pat) Grant, Imelda (Wallace )Scott, Bill (Ann) O’Keefe, Art (Philomena) O’Keefe, Aloysius (Mercedes) O’Keefe and members of the Hanrahan family; her good friend & roommate at the Manor, Nora Brennan, who passed just 2 days before her; and her fur baby Max, who passed just 2 weeks ago at the age of 17.
Leaving to mourn her loving daughter Rosalind (George) Lannon, her precious grandchildren Lori Kae (Brian) Armstrong and Guy (Debbie) Fillatre; and the joys of her life her great grandchildren Ashley Feaver (Lucas), Johnathan & Maryellen Fillatre & Ryleigh Armstrong. Also leaving to mourn her sister Evelyn King & brother Clem O’Keefe, her brother in law Jim(Marty) Hanrahan, many nieces & nephews especially Ellen Gardiner & Terry (Betty) O’Keefe. Also leaving to mourn the staff of the Lions Manor Nursing Home at Placentia who took such good care of Mom for almost 3 years; and Nora’s family who treated Mom and I as their own. Mom had many friends in the area especially her dart friends & her dancing partners at the Singalongs at the Manor. Mom loved her social life, her close relationship with her family, her dog, her Music & Friends & especially her flower garden. She will be missed by many.
Visitation will take place at Coombs Funeral Home on June 27th 2019 from 2-4pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will take place on June 28th 2019 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel at Coombs Funeral Home. Internment to follow at Coombs Memorial Cemetery.
Flowers gratefully accepted, maybe a plant or bush that could be planted in “Grandma’s Garden”, or donations to the Autism Society of Newfoundland & Labrador, the Alzheimer’s Society of Newfoundland & Labrador or a charity of your choice.
