Obituary of William Wakeham

William “Shorty” Wakeham 23 October 1954 – 11 February 2021 It is with deep sadness that the family of William ‘Shorty’ Wakeham of Bond’s Path, Placentia announce his passing on Thursday February 11, 2021 at the age of 66 years. Waiting to greet Shorty in heaven are his parents William and Rita Wakeham; parents-in-law Patrick and Eliza Martin; brothers-in-law George Griffin, Nick Devereaux and Greg Whittle. Leaving to mourn are his loving wife of 40 years Loll; sons Chad (Jenny) and Jonathan; Poppy’s pride and joy, his grandchildren Beth, William and Olivia; Sisters and brother: Madonna Griffin, Ann Marie Devereaux, Elaine McCue, John (Joan) and Cathy (Brian Griffin); Sisters and brothers-in-law: Bob, Sis (Mel Ward), Randy (Bernice), Lorraine (Kenny Cobblestone), Patsy Whittle, Darlene (Ned Meade) and a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Heartfelt thanks to Power’s Ambulance Service and to the doctors and staff of the Placentia Health Center, especially Kelly Culleton, for their excellent care during Shorty’s illness. Shorty was a hard working, devoted family man, well known as an exceptional dart player. He will be remembered as a selfless, dependable jack of all trades who would always bring a smile to your face and warm glow to your heart. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the number of visitors allowed is 20. Visitation is for family and close friends only. No flowers by request.
