Obituary of Pius Ryan

Passed away at the Lions Manor Nursing Home, Placentia on April 10, 2024, Pius Ryan age 94 years of Ferndale, formerly of Petite Forte Predeceased by his wife Lillian, son Terry, daughter Renee twin sisters: Madonna and Josephine, He leaves to mourn his daughter Josephine (Kevin Martin), sons: Gerard (Madonna), Joe (Irene) and Ron (Margie), special granddaughter Stephanie,Son in law Darren (Jenny), and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and brother Martin, friends and residents of Ferndale. Special thanks to his caregivers and Lions Manor Nursing Home-Unit 1 staff who loving referred to him as “Pop”. Your respect and compassion were above and beyond. Pius worked as a fisherman and on the coastal boats until retirement. He later in life enjoyed his scooter which gave him so much pleasure and freedom to scoot about and meet and chat with people. It was plain to see as he had 5000 kms on it. Ron would say “you could have drove to Alberta with all those kms.”. A kind, loving true gentleman, who will be greatly missed, smooth sailing into Heaven’s Bay. Visitation will take place on Thursday April 11, 2024 from: 6:00 - 9:00 and on Friday, from: 2:00 - 4:00 & 7:00 - 9:00. Funeral Service to take place on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Coombs Memorial Chapel at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Coombs Memorial Cemetery, Southeast.
