Obituary of Donald Best

Donald William Best formerly of Southern Harbour, passed peacefully on April 12, 2024. He is predeceased by his parents Patrick and Sadie whom he loved dearly, and brother Dennis. He leaves to mourn his loving partner Patricia, siblings Gladys (Wade), Carmelita (Jim), Ernest (Sharon), Michael (Elizabeth), Frances (Roy, deceased), Louis (Joy), Roland (Penny), Phonse (Carla), Rose (Heber), Dorothy (Jerry), Gregory (Liz), Geraldine (Lar), Paddy (Rosita), and his stepchildren, Kathy (Brendan), Darlene (Dave), Brenda (Ross), Tracy (Gord), Linda (Ken), Tom (Leanna), ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a large circle of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins who will miss him dearly. Donnie was a humble, kind, and patient man, who loved to make those close to him smile with his sense of humour and quick wit…and he sure could light up the dance floor! He was always there to lend a hand, and he was always thinking of others before himself. He enjoyed the simple life, and believed family was the most important thing in life. He loved spending time outdoors with the love of his life, Patricia, walking on the beach, picking berries and visiting with family. Not only was Donnie a skilled carpenter, but he was also fisherman and a jack of all trades. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends, especially Patricia and his cat Smokey. Visitation will take place at Coombs Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 17,2024 from:7:00 - 9:00 and on Thursday April 18, 2024 from: 11:00 - 2:00. Funeral Service to take place at Coombs Memorial Chapel on Thursday, April 18 at 2:00 p.m. When you can't find the sunshine be the sunshine.
