Passed away peacefully at Placentia Health Care Centre on July 1, 2024, Anne Marie Griffin known to most as Annie, at age 96 years. Born in St. Kyran’s and raised her family in Freshwater.
Predeceased by her parents, her husband Matthew, brothers Joseph and Fidelis, sister Elizabeth, sister-in-law Hilda, son Steve, son-in-law Charles Edwards and grandsons Leon and Matthew.
Leaving to mourn with decades of cherished memories: her children: Margaret (Charlie, Deceased), John (Sandy), Agatha (Gordon), Matthew (Shirley), Geraldine (Jerry), Hannah (Roy), James, Hilary (Joyce), Joseph (Paula), Randall(Mike), Ronald (Donnie), and Rosemary (Chris),brothers: John (Irene) and Gerard (Betty), sister-in-law Noreen, daughter-in-law Kitty also missing her and remembering her with love and gratitude are her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends.
A believer in living life to the fullest, She will be remembered for her love of her family, the Church, a game of bingo and a tune on the accordion.
The family would like to express their most sincere gratitude to the staff of the Placentia Health Care Center for their attention and care to Annie and to us during this time. A Special thank you to her own grandson, nurse Darryl Griffin, for being there for Nan in her final days.
Resting at Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia on Wednesday July 3 and Thursday July 4 from: 2:00 to 9:00, on Friday July 5 from 10:00 A.M. – 1:00.
Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, July 5 at St. Anne’s Church, Dunville at 2:00 p.m.
Interment to follow in Coombs Memorial Cemetery,
