Obituary of Sean Nicks
Please share a memory of Sean to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with profound sadness and fond remembrance that we announce the passing of Sean Ray Nicks at the age of 56. Known for his remarkable blend of wit, intelligence and kindness, Sean touched the lives of all who knew him. He was predeceased by his mother Catherine (Quigley) Nicks and his special Uncle Patrick Quigley.
Leaving to mourn his father John, his sisters: Lillian (Doug), Sharon (Wilfred), brothers: Pat and Steve (Sheila),nieces and nephews: Cory, Jeremy, Joshua, Penny, Andrew, Stefan, Luke, Emily and Scott. Aunt Ruth Proctor( Tennessee ) and Uncle Willard(Patricia) Nicks, (Tennessee). Also a large circle of cousins in Tennessee and Michigan.
Sean was born in Washington, DC and spent his early years at several locations in the US as his father was transferred to various naval bases. At the age of eight, his family settled permanently in Branch, the birthplace of his mother.
As avid outdoorsman, Sean found joy in the country, whether he trapping or hunting. You could often find him at the gut or up Branch River with a fishing pole, seeking trout.
Sean was a dedicated animal lover who always had a pet or two and had a deep love of dogs which was only surpassed by his love for his family. Like all of us Sean faced his own set of struggles and medical conditions.
He took great pride in his nieces and nephews, and their children successes. He loved to tease the great nieces and nephews as much as they loved being teased by him.
Known for his great humor and witty sarcasm, Sean had a unique ability to make people laugh, even in the oddest situations. All who knew him will cherish the witty sayings of Sean Ray that will live on. His generosity extended beyond his humor; if he had something you needed, it was yours. Like his mother Catherine, Sean had a green thumb, nurturing everything from plants to vegetables and generously sharing the bounty.
Sean was a dedicated worker who spent many years working in Alberta and the United States. In recent years, he spent his time at home in Branch.
Sean was a kind, gentle, and intelligent man. His absence leaves a significant void, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
" Rest easy Sean Ray"
