Dear Carl, Glen, Beulah & Rosalind,
So sorry to hear about the loss of your Dad. When I think of your Dad, I picture him sitting in the side window facing Nanny’s with the best view of who was coming and going from the Cove. Uncle Ambrose was a great Dad, Son, brother and friend - may that be of comfort in the days ahead. He will be missed. Kathleen Pilgrim.

I was saddened when my sister Rosie messaged me about our uncle Ambrose being in the hospital and a few days later she messaged he passed away. With me living far away it is hard for me when I hear news about family. The last time I was home was when my Dad passed away my sister and I went to Patrick Cove to visit and went by uncle Ambrose and aunt Nellie's house. There were so many laughs. Uncle Ambrose always made people laugh and was so welcoming to everyone. You will be missed. I have prayed you are seated at the table with the Lord. I know Nellie and nanny and Poppy and my mom and dad along with uncle Junior and uncle Kenneth are with you. Love your neice Barbara.

To all Ambrose and Nellie's family so sorry to hear Ambrose had passed. Ambrose lived a good life but I'll always remember him as young and active and always with a grin , it's like he never grew old.
Him and Nellie traveled lots from the mainland to the USA. The time we got married Ambrose and Nellie called us that day from the USA,[ they travelled to the States to see Annie, Nellie's sister].
When he came home he gave me part of his gooseberry tree, he said I'll give you a part of the old sod to take with you , every summer I got lots of gooseberries and enjoyed munching on them in the yard.
You were a great Cove man Ambrose and we all looked up to you as youngsters, I am very happy my parent's choose you to be my godfather.
Rest softly dear one , I will raise the glass with a little bit of scotch as we wish you farewell.
For your family may your good memories carry you through this difficult time.
Love Agnes and Andy.

One of the Cape Shores Finest. A True Gentleman. I remember we were in Kingston Ontario one summer, both of us decided to go to a fishing derby up North. On the way back, naturally we stopped in and got some beer, i threw an empty beer can out the window, and when i looked over at Ambrose, he was laughing, tears rolling down his face, i said what are you laughing at, he said” wouldnt know but we were driving down into Custlett”. Rest in Peace, Sir!!!

Sending our sincere condolences to Carl, Glenn, Beulah, Rosalyn and all the members of the McGrath family on the passing of Ambrose. The world has lost a very kind and generous man and there is no doubt that he is at peace now as he is reunited with his beloved Nellie in the heavenly kingdom.
Whether it was during the many times we were making deliveries to Mrs. Gen’s store, talking to him during his years working with the Department of Transportation (on some very stormy and miserable winter nights on the Cape Shore road), or when both Ambrose and Nellie would be paying a visit at Meadowbrook Villa in St. Bride”s, Ambrose’s kindness and generosity were always on full display.
During the many election campaigns down through the years, both Ambrose and Nellie were steadfast supporters and a visit to their home was always such a pleasant experience. A wonderful cup of tea and a great chat would make your day.
Ambrose’s family meant everything to him and as you console each other during these difficult days, may you be comforted by the many wonderful and treasured memories that you all have. May his gentle soul Rest In Peace.

Beulah, Rosalyn, Glenn and Carl. Our hearts are broken to hear of your dad's passing. Ross adored his uncle and aunt so much and never once went to the shore unless he seen him and your mom. They always made me feel at home from that first time I went there. I can't even imagine going up to the shore and not seeing him. I have so many memories now to cherish and I am so happy to have seen him this past weekend. We send our deepest condolences to you all. Hugs and lots of love coming your way from us. As I sit here and have a drink of Lambs, like Uncle Ambrose and I did just two days ago together….i reflect on many past memories of him and of my visits back home.
To Rosalind, Buelah, Carl, And Glenn, my thoughts are with you….
Your dad and I always shared special moments when I visited throughout the years til recent days. To list all the memories, stories, laughs, cry’s, reflection moments, and just easy times would be endless.
I will always be forever grateful to spend as much time with him as I have over the years and to be there with him for his last living days…..
I will miss the stories from years past, the humour, the drinks, the person he was, and just the time…but he has now gone to join Nellie and my dad and is at peace.
Rest in peace Uncle and I’ll wave passing over tomorrow as we spoke of on Saturday! Love you ALWAYS
