Terry, May, and Ian King posted a condolence
Monday, March 25, 2013
To Joe Barron, and the rest of the Barron family, we are deeply saddened by, and sorry to learn of, the passing of your brother, Mr. Arch Barron, the first cousin of my Dad, Gerald King (who, incidentally, passed away only three days earlier). In the passing of Mr. Arch Barron, we have lost an icon in the Placentia Area. To me, he was the best Grader Operator there ever was. His tireless work in keeping the roads clear of snow in the winter enabled children and parents to safely travel back and forth from our small towns (Fox Hr., Ship Hr., etc) to school in Dunville and Placentia, and to work in Placentia and Long Harbour. In fact, he did his job so well that, many times, we did not even know that he had been through our town. Of course, the evidence was there, as we would wake up in the morning to a safe, freshly plowed road that would allow us to get “up over the road” without incident. Mr. Arch Barron was also a kind, generous, well-loved man, who would give the shirt off his back. When I was younger, I fondly remember that my Dad would always take me with him when he visited Mr. Arch. Of course, Mr. Barron would always spoil me by giving me whatever treats he had in the house. Please accept our heartfelt condolences on the loss of a great man. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Barron Family in this time of sorrow. May Mr. Arch Barron rest in peace. Terry, May, and Ian King, on behalf of the family of Gerald and Mary (Christina) King of Fox Harbour

"Those we love remain with us for love itself lives on, and cherished memories never fade because a loved one’s gone. Those we love can never be more that a thought apart. For as long as there is a memory, they’ll live on in our hearts." Barb and Kevin Hanlon...May the peace that comes from the memories of Arch's love he shared with both of you as a partner and a father comfort you now and in the days ahead.
