To the Whiffen and Bruce Families: I`m very sorry to learn of Mrs. Ellen`s death. She was wonderful sport who thought nothing of inviting me into their home when learning of her father`s tragic ending while fishing so long ago. She was very blunt and funny, and is fondly remembered. I imagine the happy couple are walking hand-in-hand in Heaven. Take care.

My condolences to the wonderful Whiffen family who lived across the brook. I remember Mrs. Ellen as a spitfire woman, and I so looked forward to Christmas visits with her and Mr. Maurice where we would enjoy their hospitality, a drink or two and alot of laughter!!

Nan was an amazing woman, one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. She was the type of person who would give the shirt off her back for someone in need. I’ll always remember you playing cards at the kitchen table and how your face would light up when we walked in the door. She was truly loved and will forever be missed by all of us. Rest in Peace Nan.

The whiffen family, I was so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. What a beautiful silver haired angel she was and is. She was such a delight! WE all at work used to call her nanny whiffen. She was like everyone's nanny. She is now with her loving family in heaven. She will be looking down at her loving family on earth as well!! R.I.P. nanny Whiffen.
