Obituary of Thomas Coombs

Coombs, Thomas Francis Sr. of Freshwater, P. Bay (formerly of Spaniard's Bay) passed peacefully away at the age of 86 years, on Monday, November 11th, 2013 at Placentia Health Centre in the presence of his loving family. Predeceased by his infant daughter Rosemary (1963), his sons; Gerard (2011) and Richard (June 2013); also predeceased by his mother and father Annie and Richard, brother Kenneth; sisters; Mona, Mary, Margaret and Rita; nephew James Coombs; mother and father-in-law; Martha and Peter Dunphy; brothers-in-law; Peter, William and Andrew Dunphy. Leaving to mourn his loving and devoted wife of 58 years; Theresa; sons, Francis (Jeanette), Patsy Ennis (Lar), Peter (Sara), Ken (Jocelyn), Tommy, Derek and Ann Marie Barry (Tom); his precious grandchildren that were the light of his life; Andrew and Jennifer Coombs, Patrick Ennis, Thomas Coombs (and his mom, Karen Mulrooney); Shannon and Laura Rose Barry; brother-in-law, Gerald Dunphy and sister-in-law, Stella Dunphy and her family; niece and nephew Mary O'Keefe and John Kean; his special family in the United States, the Martin's; Mamie (Bob Vogel), Helen (Ramon PremDas), Carmella, Joyce (Thomas deceased), Geraldine (Steve Yeager) and Doreen; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. A retired CN Railway Employee of 43 years, 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and Honorary Member of the Star of the Sea, Placentia. Resting at Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m; Thursday beginning at 9:00 a.m. Funeral to take place at Holy Rosary Church, Freshwater on Thursday November 14, 2013 at 1:00 p.m., with Interment to follow in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Freshwater.
