Calvin, Tracy, Cavelle and Tobin families, We are so sorry to hear of Maureen's passing. Maureen was always so fun-loving with such a zest for life that it is hard to believe she is gone. She was very courageous in dealing with her battle with cancer. Her strength and spirit will always live on in you all. Her physical body may be gone but her spirit and passion with which she lived will always live on. God Bless You All, Take Care, Olive & Eddy

Last week I returned from Newfoundland after a visit with my wonderful and precious Aunt Maureen McGrath. This week my Mom and Dad called to tell me that she had left us after a courageous battle with cancer at the very young age of 54. It is with a very sad heart that I send my deepest condolences to her devoted husband, Calvin and my beautiful cousins, Tracy McGrath-Hawco and Cavelle Ann and their families. All my love to my family, especially my Dad and his brothers as they mourn the loss of their beautiful sister. I am so happy that I spent time with all of you last week! To all the relatives (McGrath's and Tobin's - too numerous to count) and friends, my thoughts and prayers are with you - you have been so wonderful and supportive through all of this - love, peace and blessings to all of you as you say good-bye to a precious wife and a wonderful friend, a great Mom and Nan, and the best aunt one could ask for! And to my Aunt Maureen, Rest in Peace -Your sense of humor will live on in our hearts forever. And, once again, the famous last words, either in person or on the phone: Luvs ya, bye. XXXOOO.

Tracy and Family – Sending deepest sympathy to you at this time. Though I didn’t know your mother, through reading the messages left by others, she was certainly a wonderful wife, mommy, nanny and friend. Be sure to cherish your memories with her as no one can ever take those away. Always remember – that though she may not be here in person, she will always be watching over you with love and support. To the McGrath & Tobin families, and to Maureen's friend Lorraine. I was so saddened to hear of Maureen's passing; I know she has been fighting a tough battle with a positive attitude, and of course, dignity. Many years ago when my kids were little we were home during the summer and Maureen was working down home - she was one of the ladies Mom had helping out with Granny Judge (who was suffering from dementia). Maureen was so kind and patient with Granny; she always answered the same question with the same gentle tone, sometimes several times within an hour!! It takes a special person to do that type of work, and Maureen was definitely one of those special people; so caring and respectful. At some point during that same visit I went down the lane to discover that Grandfather Coffey's house was gone. I went back up the road all upset and crying, and poor Maureen didn't know what to do with me. So she made me some tea and toast, gave me a hug, and listened. I'm sure she never gave that day a second thought, but it meant a lot to me. I can't begin to imagine the loss you are all feeling right now, may the strength of family and friends, and the love of God help you get through your grief. Take good care of each other and God Bless.

Calvin, Tracey & Family, Cavelle & Family, Tobin Cousins. So sorry to hear of Maureen's passing, if there is any consolation I guess it's that she is no longer suffering. I am sure there are many great memories that will bring smiles to your faces, as we, the cousins have, of our younger days in Ship Cove when we would all gather on Sunday afternoons. There was never a dull moment. As everyone grew up and moved on those gatherings became less and less but when there was a chance meeting those memories were talked about again as if time stood still. RIP Maureen, soar with the Angels.

Maureen everyone's favorite cousin! Moe always looked forward to our summers in Ship Cove, but not as much as we did. She had the best sense of humour! 50 years later we still reminisced about our childhood and the antics we thought up causing us to take fits of laughter! How many people touch our lives who bring a smile to our face just to look at their picture because you remember them for all the joy they had? My favorite cousin is one who does that for me! Calvin, Tracy, Cavelle and your families, know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Much love! ,

Calvin, Tracy, Cavelle and families, please accept my condolences. I have many memories of Maureen and Calvin since I was a teenager. Being young parents we always had stories to share when we met. Maureen always had a great wit and dry sense of humour, no doubt that was inherited from the Brennan side but the Tobin's were never slack in that area either. Maureen, you always made me laugh. May you rest in peace, there is definitely a spot for you in heaven.

It is with a very heavy heart that I write this condolence to Calvin, Tracy and Cavelle and families. Growing up in Patrick's Cove I can honestly say I had 2 homes, one being ours and the other being Calvin & Maureen's. Over the years I have so many fond memories that I hold dear from my days at Calvin & Maureen's. One of those memories being all the cake mixes myself and Tracy would steal from the pantry. We would then mix up the batter and eat it out of the bowl before Maureen would get home from work. I also fondly remember all the things that myself and Tracy done (too bad to mention) and as we got older we would tell her some of them and she would only laugh and say "its a good thing Calvin & Adrian don't know." Maureen was a person who was always there to lend a helping hand, make a cake, or make you laugh with her jokes and funny manners. How often did I come home from school to find her and Mom sitting in our kitchen and she having a cup of coffee and 2 slices of homemade toast. She set an excellent example for both of her girls to follow and I am sure that they have so many happy memories to hold dear. Take strength from the love and support offered at this time from family and friends and treasure all the great memories you have made. Maureen fought hard to the end and showed so much determination and strength. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this most difficult time. Thinking and praying for you all. Natasha & Aiden

Maureen was my first friend. All my childhood memories include her . I felt very sad to hear from my family that she had passed away. I will always remember her with long red braids and freckles. She may have recalled me as being the one looking for mischief. Good bye my dear cousin, until we meet again. RIP Lucille
