My sincere condolences to Thomas's extended family. I am a distant relative(my Grandmother Annie Roche Whelan married Ned Whelan of Placentia and was Thomas's Aunt and her daughter Betty was my mother) I remember a number of visits in my early teens staying with Aunt Maggie Mae and Peter Willie, loosing Nan Nash's best fillet knife off the wharf getting tongues, being encouraged as a Townie to illegally fish off the bridge in Branch and create great fun for Billy and others, having a wild horse and cart ride on the flats where Billy managed to run me over with the cart......all in good fun mind you.... I also remember Mona's warm and friendly manner and stopped in on another visit to her place in Barachois (Little or Great escapes me)but I do remember it was on the bottom of a a rather steep hill on a curve. Unfortunately I lost track of these roots since those days but the Roche family is instilled in my memory from a time and place much different but much valued too. My thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time. Frank Stanley
