To Pat's Family : I was online here checking my father's obituary when I came across Pat's. I hadn't seen him in about thirty years but I wanted to share a special memory. When I was a little girl - probably not even 10 years old, my parents went to Gooseberry for some kind of get-together on the beach and I don't know details but my father was drinking and his car wouldn't start. Pat was there and he felt bad for my mother because they couldn't get back to Ship Cove so Pat walked all the way from Gooseberry to Ship Cove to get the keys of our old pick-up from Aunt Carrie so he could drive it back to Gooseberry and boost the car. My mother told that story to a lot of people and she told me to never forget it - it was one of the kindest things I have ever seen anyone doing in all of my life. Again, I hadn't seen him in years and i just vaguely remember him from being over to Mrs. Bridie Judge's and Aunt Clara's , but I distinctly remember the aura of kindness that always exuded from him. Sincerely, Paulette Nash

To Pat's Family, So sorry to hear about Pat's passing. We have a lot of memories of him, especially his stories about Toronto, and love of giving the "younger crowd" advice on life. I remember him telling me on my 16th birthday that life would pass by very quickly and that in a blink I would be 40. How right he was! Another memory of Pat is him chasing myself and a few other girls when he'd had enough of our bubble blowing and gum cracking. He really didn't like this, but we sure loved to see him run......He never did catch any of us! Ches' memories of Pat(and I'm sure those of many other young men who grew up in the Cove) include late night "sociables", moose hunting, trips in the country on Pat's Bombardier, and excursions to Placentia.....to name just a few. Pat had many good qualities and is definitely a part of our memories from growing up in Patrick's Cove. He may be gone, but he will not be forgotten. May he rest in peace

Johnny, Bridie, Shelia, Mike, Tilley and families: Please accept our deepest regrets on Pat's passing. We spent a lot of time together as children. I had lots of bossing from him and Cecilia!!! Pat spent many hours at our house in the mountain. In later years Andy and I enjoyed his stories about Toronto.I guess he and Gerard are sharing stories again. Deepest sympathy. We will have a mass offered for Pat here in Marystown.
