Our sympathy and prayers are with you all. Hearing the sad news I think back to a young girl from Point Lance and reflect back to the Nash home and the many good times we shared. The heavenly gates have once again opened to welcome this great man where suffering is no more. As you mourn your sad loss may your wonderful memories ease your pain and keep you close to each other. An old Irish poet once said "Death leaves a headach no one can heal; love leaves a memory no one can steal. Think of me, pray for me and when we meet again in one brief moment all will be as it was before." May his soul rest in peace.

The true measure of a man is his legacy; a legacy of family and of lives touched. In this respect Gussie was a Giant of a Man. It has been my privelege to have been one of those lives touched and to be friends with the entire Nash family. My thoughts and prayers, and those of my family are with all of you this week. A few years ago during a similar event in my own family, I ran across this quote from Wordsworth that I thought would be appropriate: What though the radiance which was once so bright Be now for ever taken from my sight, Though nothing can bring back the hour Of splendour in the grass, of glory in the flower; We will grieve not, rather find Strength in what remains behind Godspeed. Please accept our condolences at this very difficult time. Uncle Gussie will be missed from the lane and I know daddy's heart is breaking. They came from such a large family in very hard times. But they had many good memories that they will cherish forever. Having lost my mother not so long ago, I know the kind of grief you are all feeling, but with time, prayers, love and family support you will all get through this together. To Mrs. Sadie, please know that you are being thought about so much during this time and I am asking God to be with you and help you through this sorrow. You were such a dedicated wife to Uncle Gussie. You are an inspiration to all married women who must endure the illness of a spouse. You stuck by him and never left his side, for that you must be so proud. Take care and God be with you all.

Sending condolences to our family back home and especially to Nan. Poppy lived a long life surrounded by his family and friends. My heart is deeply saddened and I wish I could be there with you all to share in your memories, laughter and tears. I have many memories, all happy, of him. I spent many nights with Nan and pop while I was growing up and I am thankful for all the happy times. I remember standing at the kitchen sink one evening, nanny was washing and I was drying the dishes (one by one) and he jumped up and took the drying cloth from me and said, "Here honey, let me show you how to do that" and he took a handful of plates and started drying them. Whenever I dry dishes I think of that. Poppy also made the best tea, I always looked forward to breakfast when I was there because he sweetened your tea just right and poured some into the saucer so you could dip you toast. I have many memories of the house being filled with people and laughter at Christmases, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, Saturday nights and Sundays the list goes on, his family and friends always got together. His life was enriched by all of you and we were very fortunate to have him as a part of ours. I will remember him fondly and love him forever. Nanny, I know this is a very difficult time for you. You and pop have been together nearly all your lives, I hope that your memories of him will bring you comfort, warm your heart and bring a smile to your face as you remember him with love. I wish I was there with you, but please know that I am in my thoughts and in my heart. I know you will have lots of support to help you through this very difficult time. Love you and am thinking of you. Tania and James Corcoran Doha, Qatar

It shows Augustine sitting together with Sadie, Melvin and Molly on the Couch in the living-room. Although I’m far away, I will accompany you all in this difficult time from overseas and want to let you know, that I’m thinking about and praying for you. Hans-Peter Zahner
