Billy is gone from our midst but he will forever be remembered when we drive the road through St. Bride's, when we attend a funeral on the Cape Shore, when we walk into the Community Center of Branch and when we recall some of those many sayings and actions that were uniquely a part of his persona. He will be quoted and spoken of fondly for many years to come. Condolences to Patricia and her family who loved him so dearly and whom he loved in return. God speed, Billy.

Patricia, Virginia and family. So sorry to hear of Billy's passing. I have so many fond memories of Billy during all my years of staying over with Virginia. He was always in a good mood, laughing and carrying on. He had his place in the porch of the church, always excited to greet you when you came in. And the dances at Manning's, the Shamrock and the community centres - Billy was in his glee to be doing the two-step. He will truly be missed by all of the Cape Shore. RIP Billy.

To the family of the late Billy O'Reilly,
It is with a sad heart we send condolence on the passing of a wonderful friend and a wonderful volunteer in all communities. Billy spend a lot of time in Branch over the years and have made many friends, who welcomed Billy to their homes with open arms. Billy was a great volunteer in the community of Branch and was well appreciated by all whom he helped out. Billy volunteer at many dances and was a huge help to the Branch Volunteer fire department at all events. Billy was at every funeral to direct traffic and make sure our parking lot was just so. Billy attended every Remembrance Day service in Branch and always helped make sure everything was in place and when we host outside he would stand and hold the book so my pages won't blow over on me. Billy was apart of Branch and our town will sure miss having his help and presence around at events in the days to come. Fly High our friend and know you will live on in the hearts of many whom you have touched....RIP BIlly

To Patricia, Marion, all Billy's relatives and his friends, of whom there are many, on behalf of Bride's family we send our deepest condolences on the passing of Billy. Billy loved to tease me and he would say " Gary Browne cops don't worry me and don't say a word because I am on for it today." He would then laugh and slap me on the back. Billy, I send you a wish as you cross the bar to be with family and friend's in God's loving embrace:
May the ancient hills of the old Cape Shore always reverberate your friendly echo,
May its many ponds, rivers and gullies forever carry the memory of a truly special and unique person,
May God give you eternal rest, we shall never forget you, dear friend!"

Billy, I'll never forget how you came up to me at Mom's gravesite (waiting patiently until some of the crowd moved away) on her day of burial and introduced yourself as Mom's First Cousin, (Nellie English Careen ). You could see that I was in a lot of pain & so grief stricken but you knew just what to say to me. Your presence there on that cold, miserable winter day in January,1995 in Point Lance, and your kind, sincere words helped me immensely. You spoke so highly of Mom & how special she was to you.... and reminded me that she was your oldest cousin on your Mom's & Grandmother's (my great Aunt Kate) side of the Family...the English's.
---- When I realized that you had come all the way from Cuslett on that bone-chilling winter day ....you told me that you were coming to bid your final farewell to Nellie, supposing you had to walk ! When I expressed concern about your ride back & offered one with us..you told me you had just gotten an invitation from some friends ---Now, today, seeing & knowing the many tributes from so many friends you had in your life, I know you would not have had to walk very far. -- On another occasion, you were down to the Point Lance Cemetery Mass to honour Mom----Nick & I were delighted to see you & so happy that you rode back to Cuslett after the ceremony with us....WE really enjoyed your company and the stories & information you provided.....especially exchanging stories of you dear brother, Frankie...who both, Nick & I knew so well when we were younger while out to Branch, visiting our Grandfather ,'Mr Tone' English.
You were indeed a very well-loved and appreciated man-.I, also, know how well you were treated by Patricia & her late husband, Kevin, who gave you a loving home after your Mom passed many years ago.
Rest Easy, Billy ,in your special place in Heaven ...and enjoy your time, once again. with your many relatives & friends who came to the Gate to welcome you in, along with St. Peter.
My health has prevented me, for several years, from visiting my Parents' & brother Johnny's gravesites in Point Lance. So,I won't be at yours, tomorrow, either... but I will be watching & praying a saved Mass on my television as your life is celebrated at the Mass of Christian Burial,tomorrow...and then taken to your final resting place.---
** If I do get out that way again, I will make a special stop by your gravesite in Branch.**
~~ TIL WE MEET AGAIN,BILLY, --- REST IN THE PEACE OF CHRIST.~~~ PATSY

I've been thinking about Billy a lot the last few days. I've been telling stories and laughing about so much stuff. I have so many good memories with him. Over my 28 years on the Shore he was a good part of a lot of it. If I needed help with anything he was there. We'd laugh and carry on about stuff, most of it I can't even share. I have Wanda on her knees now laughing at some of the stuff. Stuff like fixing up the church, putting out a fire, hauling a winter's wood or doing mother's cupboards, he always said or did stuff to keep me chuckling. And I learned some swear words that I didn't know existed God bless him. Two favorites that he said to me often "Ya cocktail B*****d" and "Go **** yourself with an SOS on it"...now I'm laughing again. We had good times, now he's in for better times. To a true friend, Reilly Bill,(always my name for him), I salute you.

Patricia and all of Billy's family.....we were saddened to hear of Billy's passing. Many of our crowd have memories of Billy dating back to when we used to go to Cuslett every Sunday. And we all have recent memories of his presence in parking cars for funerals. He always did a great job and it was easy to tell if he was around. Unfortunately none of our crowd will be home for the wake or funeral. Those of us who are around are in Humber Valley for a family weekend. I think I speak for everyone in saying our thoughts and prayers are in St. Brides. Dance with the angels Billy. You will be missed.
