Obituary of Martin Joseph McGrath

Passed away peacefully at the Lions Manor Nursing Home in Placentia on Friday , June 18,2021, Martin McGrath age 89 of Patrick’s Cove, surrounded by his family. Predeceased by his parents Denis and Rose McGrath of Patrick’s Cove, sisters: Laura, Theresa, Katie, Rosella, and Madeline, brothers : James and Edgar. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his Brother Denis, Sisters: Betty(Clayton), Rita(Adrian) and Lucy. Also a large circle of nieces, nephews,(especially Walter) and other relatives and friends. Martin grew up in Patrick’s Cove but moved away at an early age to find work. He travelled throughout Canada and had many interesting adventures. He always enjoyed having a drink with good friends and good music. He was grateful to be able to live out his later years in the province of NL which he loved. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the entire staff at the Lions Manor Nursing Home for their countless hours of care, and compassion especially during his time in Palliative Care . Your professionalism and kindness have not gone unnoticed! Thank - you. As long as there is love and memory, there is not true loss. Visitation will take place at Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia on Sunday June 20, 2021 from 11:00 - 9:00. Funeral Service will take place at Coombs Memorial Chapel on Monday June 21, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Patrick's Cove.
