Gordon Joeseph Linehan, Husband of Claudette (MacKinnon) Linehan, of Miramichi NB, passed away at the St. John Regional Hospital on Monday November 30, 2015, at the age of 86. Born in Southeast Placentia, NL, Gordon was the son of the late George and Selina (Lannon) Linehan.
Gordon was survived by his wife and three sons; Gordon of Edmonton, AB, Barry (Barbara) of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL and Charles of Mirimachi, NB; four grandchildren; Ricky, Cayley, Taylor, and Erynn, including 2 great grandchildren Liam and Adelynn, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Gordon was predeceased by two sisters Theresa Murowski and Alma Tobin and two brothers’ Patrick and George.
Gordon was a Warrant Officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force, serving across Canada in Gander, Ottawa, Cold Lake, and Chatham and internationally in Sardinia, Australia, California and Germany.
Gordon was an avid sportsman with a love for hunting, fishing, the natural ecology and all sports in general. A jack-of-all-trades, an amateur poet, historian, and linguist, were a few of his talents. He was a long-time parishioner and volunteer of Saint Samuel church. A true friend and companion to many and would lend a helping hand to those in need.
VISITATION WILL TAKE PLACE AT COOMBS FUNERAL HOME, ON FRIDAY DECEMBER 18, 2015 FROM 7:00 - 10:00 P.M., AND SATURDAY FROM 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. WITH MEMORIAL SERVICE AT COOMBS FUNERAL HOME TO BEGIN AT 11:00 A.M.
